Our 1929 house has chestnut trim framing around all windows, doors, archways, etc. which was never painted but also was never cared for and was in terrible shape, a dull dark brown. We found Martin Hernandez, an antique furniture refinisher, who took on restoring all of the first floor woodwork, including the staircase, at a very reasonable rate. He's now out of work and I'd like to share his information if anyone needs similar work. You can reach him at 973-573-3254, but be aware that his English is very basic. Contact me for a reference. He also refinished a table for us and it's beautiful. Martin is reliable, prompt and does excellent work.
