The original (PINK) tile in my bathroom is coming up underneath the paint. Does anyone know a good peson who does refinishing of tile and tubs? It's actually an arduous process, so a regular painter that does it on the side just won't cut it. We bathe our son in that tub and I'm not too happy about paint chips coming up in the water. Thanks.

I think Mr Ugly? has been highly recommended several times.

We had an enamel chipping problem and used Mr. Ugly. I think there have been recommendations for other companies as well.

Tub looks much better. But keep in mind it lasts about as long as a paint job in a high traffic area...about 5 years. After 3 years ours has a couple of chips so it doesn't look perfect anymore. But still much better than it did.

We do use a non-slip rubber mat with suction cups, which I think is a no-no with refinished tubs. Oh well.

I'd go ahead and do it as long as you don't expect longevity, otherwise you need to get a new tub. Cost us around $300ish.

Another option is the acrylic bath fitters that they custom make to fit over your tub. For me it wouldn't work because I'm all about aesthetics.

If you do it keep baby out of the house, they usually sand the tub down and then spray it and even though it seemed to be pretty contained I wouldn't want my kids around while it was being done.

Good luck!
