We have several surfaces of either limestone and/or marble which were never sealed. Now there are stains which we would love to remove or lessen, i.e. coffee cup rings, olive oil... Is it possible to remove these stains and if so, should/could we then seal these surfaces, and with what?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure, but check out marblelife.com. They're coming to our house to seal the marble and grout in our new bathroom this week and they mentioned that they also do cleaning and restoration.

MKH: Please post your experience afterwards. I would be very curious to see how it goes. Thanks.

Hard to say whether they did a good job, because you can't see the sealer. However, they accomodated my schedule, they were polite, and they even took off their shoes when coming into the house (gotta love that.) Honestly, sealing grout and marble doesn't seem like a hard job, and it was fairly expensive for the time it took them. When it's time to re-do it next year, we'll think about doing it ourselves if we have the time and energy.
