I need about 45 sheets of 1/2" drywall delivered to my house. I know I can rent one of the HD trucks and do it myself....but. Any suggestions as to a company that would sell and deliver drywall? |

You'll get a couple recommendations shortly, but for that amount you can order and get it delivered for free (or a nominal charge)...I know some suppliers in Newark will do it. |

Home Depot will deliver for a fee. Jagger Lumber will deliver and has been know to waive the fee if the order is large. |

The nearest Jaeger is in Union on Morris Avenue. They don't have a Newark location. There are building supply dealers who can deliver with a boom truck and actually load the job site using the boom and through an open window on an upper floor. Lugging drywall upstairs isn't fun. |

Charles Bahr Lumber and West Essex Lumber in Verona deliver. Last time I checked, Bahr quotes a very competitive delivered sheetrock price, which includes about $0.50 per sheet -- no minimum. They also have a great molding/trim inventory. (1/2" rock is heavy, so make sure they agree to deliver it as close to your project as their truck can access.) |

I'm not sure, but I think 45 sheets of drywall may be heavier than their rental truck can handle. There are limits posted at the truck rental counter, and they usually want to see your receipt (for material) before they do the rental. |

Macman, DO NOT buy from HD or even lowes, the sheet rock there is handled way to much. Jersey Gypsum (Hacketstown) and Sandy Hill Supply (i think in Garfield) They supply to contractors and deliver right into your house (just a tip) They will need some notice and they will give you up to 16 foot boards (less spackle work). Just tell them that another contractor reccomended them. Keep in mind they sell thousands of boards per month, so its always good material. |
