Does anyone know a reasonable licensed plumber who does good work with diagnosing and repairing an ancient but well-built steam heating system? PSE&G have relegated surge problems of unknown cause to a plumbing issue??? |

Why go to the extra expense of using a licensed plumber? I hear they're a lot more expensive than the unlicensed guys. All kidding aside, absolutely call Gateway. Master Plvmber obviously knows his stuff when it comes to steam heat (among other things) and you'll get the problem resolved. |

Technically, you don't need a license to install or work on a boiler. A license is only required to connect the potable water source to it. Lisa, it sounds like either the system needs cleaning or the boiler needs to be skimmed. I would agree with "Case", Master Plvmber (Gateway) is more than capable. If you need additional information, why not check out "The Wall" on www.heatinghelp.com. Robert O'Connor |
