Does anyone know a local plumber able to install or discuss flexible tubing, aside from radiant heat tubing? Thanks. |

For one, can you combine flexible tubing/pipes with fixed pipes, copper, pvc, cast iron or steel? Also, what's the skinny on tankless water heaters? Finally, have you ever heard of a reverse osmosis whole house water filtration system? I think it would be too expensive, use too much water. Recommendations for other whole house filtration systems? |

You can combine new PEX tubing with fixed pipes such as copper. My research & experience in the home improvement business is that Tankless water heaters are a very good thing. Master Plumber has a different opinion. There are reverse osmosis water filtration system with zero waste now available. My thoughts are that you don't need such a system to have for your entire home, only an outlet near the faucet you use most to get your drinking water from. |

1. Yes. 2. Too much to list. Boring, overenthusiastic threads already played out on the subject. Search archives. 3. a.Yes. b.It's very expensive and doesn't "use" any water at all (it processes it, then YOU use it). c.What are you trying to remove from your water? Bad taste? Foul odor? Chlorine? Sediment? Master Plvmber |

I want a whole house filtration system to remove everything, but especially sediment, minerals, rust, chlorine, biological agents. Again, not just for drinking. The only possible exclusion might be toilets, but with hard water, I'd rather filter it too. Any recommendations for ro whole house systems? I've only found point source ones. |

Forgot to add - heard that ro systems use several gallons of unfiltered water to produce one gallon of filtered. While it doesn't make sense on the face of it, is there something to this? |
