We've lost the little white button that goes on our cold tap, labelling it as "cold". I tried HD and Lowes, they don't have the right ones. Any advice on where to look next, hopefully local? I also tried a couple websites but I can't determine the manufacturer, so any identifying advice would be great too. I'm sure it's a common entry level fixture like everything else in the house!

Common entry-level fixture doesn't mean anything. There have been literally hundreds of manufacturers throughout the years. You'll need to go to a good parts supplier. I think Palmer is good for that kind of thing.

Try Community Plumbing Supply (I think that's the name) on Rt. 22 in Springfield. Center Island near Pearle Vision/Barnes and Noble area. Obviously, if you bring the "Hot" button with you, they'd have a better chance of matching it up. They've been there a long time so I know they have old stock in their hundreds of little drawers. They helped me find an old knob to a shower that, of course, HD did not have.
