Over the past few nights, we've been hearing a very loud clanking noise from the pipes of our steam heat when the heat kicks in during the middle of the night. Any idea what causes this & how to fix it? |

8 million threads on this. water collecting in your pipes and being hit by the steam. do a search and check out some of the other threads. they will be of help. |

If it's a new problem, it's likely to be a clogged pigtail (that curly pipe with the grey box on top). That would cause the boiler to not shut off at the right time. Having it serviced should take care of it. Master Plvmber |
