Can anyone reccomend a landscaper or yard service to do a spring clean out on our yard? It isn't very big but I just can't seem to get to it...I don't want a service contract just someone to help rake out all of the debris and such Thanks |

I also am in need of someone to take out some myrtle/ivy, define beds and reseed. Any suggestions that don't get into the expensive landscape options? |

I was very pleased with Birch Hill Landscaping (973) 376-0538. They charge by the man hour and materials (haven't had the mulching done yet.) My favorite part is they know how to properly prune trees and shrubs (I prefer a natural look which is more beneficial to the health of the plant than the rounded shaped things many people have in their yards.) |

I am also in need of someone to come in and weed out my plant/flower beds, put down mulch, etc. I called Birch and they are not available. Any other suggestions? |

I recently spoke w/Glenn from Glenn's Landscaping in Millburn, and he seemed reasonable. He'll be leaving an estimate for me to review in a couple of days. I'll let you know if we decide to use him. I've also gotten good recommendations for Giovine Landscaping in West Orange. I've never used their services, however. bklyngirl |

Any other recs? Bklyngirl, did you get a reasonable estimate from Glenn's? What type of work are you having done, if I may ask? Steve, I'm definitely going to give you a call. Thanks. |

I think so. Here's the breakdown: Spring Cleanup - $310; Monthly lawn maintenance - $115; Bush trimming - $40/per man hour; Fall cleanup - $190; 7 yds of mulch & initial bed work - $560. Glenn's prices are lower than the landscaper I hired last year, who was widely recommended, but not worth it. My neighbors have used Glenn for a couple of years and their property looks beautiful. He's also a very nice, approachable guy. At the very least, Glenn seems much better than the guy we previously hired. Hope this helps. bklyngirl
