It's time to replace the worn linoleum tile in the kitchen. We are considering cork floors, and were looking to see if anyone has experience with a cork kitchen floor a few years out, in terms of maintenance and durability -- Any regrets or raves? Thanks |

I have it. We love it. It has been 6 years. Wax it every couple of years with the big machine and paste wax, otherwise keep it "moist" looking with an occasionaly mop-on wax. The dog's toenails occasionally scratch little marks into the surface. They disappear when you wax. It is simply the greatest floor in a kitchen! |

kmk, How big is the dog? Our 2 labs have really done a number on our wood floors and cork is a potential replacement item in some rooms. Thanks |

She is a standard poodle who (for some reason) won't let anybody trim her nails very short! |

Great Stuff. It's eco-friendly(from a renewable source), anti-microbial and easy on your dishes and back. It still looks great on the floors of my NYC design school after 30 years. Check out this link for more: http://www.askthebuilder.com/183_Cork_-_It_s_Captivating_.shtml |

We found cork - from the 20's - in our basement after we put it in the kitchen. It is an original sheet type flooring. I have seen it in department stores as well. I know of another flooring material that is really cool.... Leather. Yup - leather floor tiles are unbelievably beautiful. They are not appropriate for wet areas but they would look real nice in a sun room/library! |

Walt, I put on into a powder room and it was quite easy. Great foot feel and can take traffic. Good luck. dOd |
