Is there such an animal for a front door on a 1920s Colonial Revival? If so, what does it look like? Where can I buy/have made? Thoughts on not being historically accurate? Do not like appearance of current door (fairly cheap white metal)and it is broken. Am thinking a wood door painted same color as the main front door. Thanks. |

My next-door neighbors have one that appears to be original. And even if it's not, it's perfect for the house. PL me if you'd like more info. |

I've never ordered from these folks, but I learned of the site from this board, so others may chime in here. Take a look: http://www.oldfashionedwindows.com/wood%20screen%20doors.htm

It seems our house had interchageable storm and screen doors just like the windows. I should qualify that...it definately had screen doors, I imagine they must have had a storm as well. I replaced the metal combo windows with nice heavy storms and screens (that we have to change out each season) but I have not done the doors yet. |

Our house has the original storm door from 1927 (we found it in the rafters of the garage). It is like a French door -- 15 glass windows. PL me and I'll give you our address so you can check it out. |
