Okay, before someone says, "running water..."
I looked on Consumer Reports and there wasn't anything on comparative ratings of bathroom faucets. Should I be looking for any specific mechanics?

I need something not so pricey, but of decent quality.

Thanks for any suggestions,
m

I think I looked at style more than function. We went with Kohler, but there are other brands we would have considered. I don't know how much the quality of the mechanics differs really - some might hold up over the years better than others, but I just kind of assumed they all work the same and you can tell by sight and reputation which ones don't look too cheapo.

I agree with LilLB's choice.

We have Kohler all over the house.... great styling and a quality product.

I usually rec.Moen for a good product line and great customer service.

My Kohler faucet has been a piece of cr*p since the day we bought it.

No recommendations for anything else though, sorry.

Choose a brand that you will have no trouble finding repair parts for 5 years from now. Some of my least favorites are... American Standard, Price Pfister, Moen Monticello line, Kohler Avitar, California faucets.
Grohe is good for high end, Can't go wrong with Delta for moderate priced.

I think Delta is a great brand, lifetime warranty. We got ours at www.faucetdirect.com I think. We bought a high spout model that swivels with porcelan 1/4 turn handles. Has an antique look to it. Works great especially if you have kids because they can reach it and turn the handles with ease. See the model we bought at http://www.faucetdirect.com/index.cfm?page=display:product&ProductID=2567LHP&man ufacturer=Delta&finish=Chrome except we got the strait porcelan handles instead of the T-shape ones.

Sorry Melicious, missed your post.

Yep, has leaked on and off since a couple of months after we put it in. Hate it but too lazy to find something else.

If you are looking to change the fixture in the tub/shower there is one big difference we found between the Moen and Kohler fixtures when we did two baths within a year: the Moen can adjust both volume and temperature, the Kohler adjusts only temperature.

If I could redo my bath today, I'd go with function and get the Moen.

However, I do appreciate the beauty of my Kohler fixtures.
