I don't think anyone would want these - they are old, crumbling and pretty nasty - or they'd be free for pickup! But we need to find a way to get rid of probably 30 or so from an old retaining wall we are taking out. We have no problem loading/unloading them with a trailer but we need somewhere for them to go. Any ideas?

We are in WO and thought we could take them to the recycling center, but no.

WO has bulk pickup every week on the second collection. Check the Town website to see if they will take the railroad ties, although if they will you will probably have to cut them in to four foot lengths and put them out over a number of weeks.

Bob - they won't take treated lumber (creosote/pressure treated), even if it is cut up. Looks like we'll be paying haulers. Gah.

I have to say, we have been lucky though - with everything we have done to our house/yard, thus far we have never had to pay. WO is great about trash/recycling stuff.
