Looking for someplace to buy, and someone to install, a "bilco" door leading out of our basement into our backyard. I assume one can buy them at Home Depot and Lowe's, but I'd need someone to install it and I'm not sure I want to go with whomever they use. Any recommendations? And any idea how much I should expect it to cost? Thanks in advance. --brent |

My neighbor tried to do this and the new one didn't fit the hole. He's pissed because he has to step over the door frame then go down and, I think, he hit's his head or something. I'm planning on trying to restore mine to save the hassle. I actually asked some autobody places about stripping and repainting. No deal. Let me know what you figure out. J.B. |

On Rt. 22 east by Burger King Union you will find Meile Iron Works he makes and installs custom cellar doors.I have had two made by him, he makes a nice product although it might take him about four weeks, and plan on spending about $1500.00 |
