Looking for someplace to buy, and someone to install, a "bilco" door leading out of our basement into our backyard. I assume one can buy them at Home Depot and Lowe's, but I'd need someone to install it and I'm not sure I want to go with whomever they use.

Any recommendations? And any idea how much I should expect it to cost? Thanks in advance.

My neighbor tried to do this and the new one didn't fit the hole. He's pissed because he has to step over the door frame then go down and, I think, he hit's his head or something. I'm planning on trying to restore mine to save the hassle. I actually asked some autobody places about stripping and repainting.
No deal.

Let me know what you figure out.

On Rt. 22 east by Burger King Union you will find Meile Iron Works he makes and installs custom cellar doors.I have had two made by him, he makes a nice product although it might take him about four weeks, and plan on spending about $1500.00
