We have lost a very large area of pachysandra. Our lawn service said it looks like the deer are eating it, but in the 5 years we have been in this house (near reservation), I have never seen the deer touch pachysandra. Another landscaper said may be not enough water. It looks as if the tops are chomped off, and it is spreading. Any ideas of what it could be, and what to do??? Thanks! |

Don't know about the deer, but it has been a very dry spring and watering should help. We've had some significant die-off on a couple of hollies because of the low amount of moisture this year--watering improved their condition, but I'm also worried about our other plants. If it is the deer or some other critter the drought may be affecting their normal spring plant diet and they have turned to something less tasty like pachysandra. |
