I will let you know next week. :-) They are doing our installation on Thursday and Friday.

So far I was impressed with Fred Romano, one of the owners, who did the estimate and my wife was impressed with the engineer who was over last week to do the final layout.

I had Custom install Central Air in our house in 1999. They did a great job, we have been happy with the system since.

They serviced it once after squerrls chewed thru the copper pipes and that was a good experience.

I recommend them all the time.

George

Squirrels can chew through copper pipes? That's nuts.

George spent a long time in the nuclear navy. I wouldn't say he exactly glows in the dark, but, well, maybe there are some mutant squirrels around his place. :-)

Two years ago this time, squirrels chewed thru my plastic rain gutter covers, came down the gutter to a facia board and chewed a hole into my attic. Once in they chewed into a soffit pocket where my A/C pipes and electrical enters and built a nest.

Before I came aware of the problem, thru noise at night, the family was born and four to five squirrels were using the nest.

It turns out that they chew on anything to clean or sharpen teeth. Anything includes Rafters, joists, electrical wires and soft copper tubing full of freon.

They severed the electrical feed to the A/C and vented the freon.

It took me months to trap and remove the tree rats and stop any further entry. (well documented on MOL at the time.)

I beleive that they were mutant squirrels, so Bob K may be correct.

George

You should report the squirrels to the EPA.
