If you search you'll find more than you want to know on this topic.

Go easy on yourself and try Gateway: 973.762.1000

Be well, all.

We've tried 3 different plumbers come through, and Gateway has been the most consistant, professional, timely staff I've dealt with. Smack in the middle pricing too (Definitely not the cheapest, but we've had many higher bids too), which I was happy to pay.

Personally, Gateway's representative who posts on this board has completely turned me off, and I'll never use this company because of his unnecessary and unprovoked slanderous attack on another plumbing service in the area. If the Gateway service is so great, they ought to stand on their record and refrain from maligning others. Kind of a David and Goliath situation, and in this case David's arrogance went a bit too far, IMHO.

No, I do not represent any plumbing service at all. I just found it to be an offensive thread where Gateway went way off base about a a teeny tiny plumbing company with whom we have had very good experiences.

mjh's attacks on Gateway are uncalled for. The exchange in question referred to another thread where somebody was singing the praises of a drain guy who passed himself off as a plumber. We've always been more than happy with Gateway's work.

We've used both M/SO Drain and Gateway....Gateway was very good on big projects, M/SO Drain was much better on immediate repairs/timliness/etc. The issue is, M/SO is licensed plumber, and tries to stick to the small stuff (and underbids by 1/2......) As a Plumber, I can see why G-way took umbrage. As a homeowner, I have to say their is a place for both.

The aforementioned exchange was slighly awkward, I'll admit, and seemed uncalled for. Especially since M/SO doesn't post on-line here (at least to my knowledge) so it seemed somewhat out of line. Even though G-way was right in what he was saying.

We tried to get an estimate from Capasso once. Was impossible to get anyone to come out, and when they finally did, didn't hear anything from them for weeks. He claimed he had written down the wrong number. By that point, we had found someone else to do the work. The estimate, if I recall correctly, was very high anyway.

I needed a plumber to come first thing and fix a broken faucet. I called Right One at 7:30 AM and they were there at 9:00 as requested. They were great!

NJGuy - I had a similar experience with Capasso. It took him forever (ok maybe more like a couple of weeks) just to do an estimate for us. I had to chase after him to get it. But, we had other people doing estimates for us, so we just went ahead with one of them. The plumbing project needed to get done before moving ahead with other projects, so we didn't have time to waste.
