I think my gas dryer is dead or dying. Won't dry clothes thoroughly and on some days, not at all. Really can't afford new dryer right now. I've searched and found Jacoby's for repair and also Able & Ready Service, but no phone numbers. I used Astro a few years ago and they were awesome -- same day repair, ultra fast but very expensive. Any suggestions?

Believe it or not, Rich also can fix dryers. Give us a call and he might be able to take a look. 973.763.4726.

Since this problem happens intermittently, You could probably do some checking before you call a service technician. Check to see if the exhaust vent is cloged on the inside or on the outside.

Thanks, Sherri. I'll give you guys a call. Same problem happened last summer and Astro guy said it was the dryer coil or heating coil? Don't know what to check for on a do-it-yourself -- and I'm a 'fraidy cat around gas appliances!

Also try for more information (have the model number nearby) --

partselect.com

repairclinic.com

They sell appliance parts direct - BUT also have handy diagnosis guides.
