We've got moles burrowing through our backyard. The telltale signs are the holes and the leaves turning yellow on affected shrubs. And then we saw the little guys - cute but destructive. Any relatively humane way of encouraging these beasts to seek other stomping grounds? |

There is a mole repeller that you can buy from catalogs. Unfortunately, I don't remember where I got mine. It's a device powered by 4 D-cells, that you stick into the ground. It emits a jabbering kind of noise that moles apparently don't like. If you push it deeply into the ground it can only be heard faintly by human ears. I got mine three or four years ago when a huge gopher was digging holes all over my property and eating everything I planted. This device got rid of him. I use it every spring and summer, and it works, at least for moles and gophers. |

Moles eat grubs (I hear). No grubs, no moles. Treat your grubby lawn. |

Thanks for the helpful advice. We're trying a mole repeller similar to the one politicalmon suggested. The cats in our neighborhood seem uninterested in playing with the moles. They are located in a wooded part of the property, so no grubby lawn. |

Maybe we have moles, too? Lately, I've been noticing holes in the mulch around my shrubs. In fact, I initially thought whatever was making these holes were causing my Azaleas (sp?)to dry up. Could my initial thought have been right? Could we have moles on our property? bklyngirl |
