As I sit and look at the completely sanded front of my house, with its new roof, and wait for week FOUR to pass, I am reminded that I actually hired someone to remove the paint from my stone facade.

Yes, somewhere back in time, I paid a deposit and signed a contract with Power Clean Systems. I remember that time well, there were lots of promises of a one-week turn-around and such. I wax nostalgic for those times as they tell me that "they'll get to it as soon as they can" - although I didn't PAY when I wanted, I paid you on time...

I wave farewell to my painters because they can't wait any longer for this guy to show up and take the paint off (they can't work before he uses the chemicals that may drip on the new paint and erode it). There my house sits - ugly as sin from the front...lovely from the sides.

The painters say they'll come back, but they're not sure when, because they are booked solid now.

Ah...the drinks it will take to recover...
