Hello all,

What removes dried paint spots on wood floors that does not ruin the floor and is not toxic to cats??

Thank you,
Tabby

If latex, I would think a combination of spic n span plus a plastic putty knife would do it. Might be that using a hair dryer to soften it up would help -- we've done that with candle wax to good effect.

I think "Goo Off" should do the trick.

Rubbing alcohol. Saw it on a decorating show and have done it myself.

Rubbing Alcohol??! I wonder if that for just those big chunky pain splotches or if that would work on the fine mist of paint that exists all over the floor in our master bedroom? Probably just have to sand all of that off right?

I put some on a cotton ball/pad and rubbed until the paint (a few smaller splotches up to about 1/4 inch round) wiped away. The finish on the floor is still fine.

Rubbing alcohol? Are you kidding??? I've tried "goo gone" or whatever that's called, and it didn't work. I thought I was stuck with paint on the floors! I'll try alcohol too and see what happens.... thanks!

depends what kind of paint: latex should come of with a moistened fine steel wool pad-can be had at HD or any hardware store...other types of paint are more complicated...
