I have been using this microwave for over 5 years and never had a problem unless a bunch of other appliances were on at the same time. I know there are several heavy duty things hooked up to this line, but when I use the microwave I make sure none of those things are on at the same time. But now, even though nothing is in use, except the microwave, the circuit breaker trips everytime I try to use it. Obviously, I am not using it anymore. I am wondering if it is the microwave itself that is the problem. Why would it trip if that is the only thing running? Should I just buy a new microwave? I am not very electrically savy but can't understand why this would be suddenly happening and never did so in the past when nothing else was in use.
Eventually, when I can afford it, I will have some of the other things switched to a new line. I don't know how so much stuff ended up on the same line in the first place. In spite of that, the only time it trips is when the microwave is running.

Now why didn't I think of that. I guess because the microwave is way back in the pantry and nothing else will fit on the shelf...so I got the blow dryer and ran it for about 3 minutes. Did not trip the ciruit, so should I think defective microwave?

Yes it is and naturally it is always on. So much for my theory of no other appliances running.

I think it would also make sense to move the microwave to another circuit (that always works) to see if it trips that circuit. If that good circuit trips, time for a new microwave.
