Mr. Kibbegirl is trying to fix an old attic sink of ours. Problem is, the sink is probably original to the house and according to the Home Depot, the pipe fit that we need "they just don't make anymore". We're not buying this quip -- what he meant to say is that "Home Depot doesn't carry it". In any event, who do we go to for "old time" plumbing supplies? What about the place on Valley? Do they stock plumbing supplies for older homes? We're really not trying to replace a fully working toilet because we can't find a pipe fit.

You may be referring to the fact that the old sink does not have a built in overflow and requires a drain with no overflow holes. Is this the case?

To answer your question, yes, go to Palmer plumbing on Valley. Take what you have and ask PJ or Bruce to help you out. Odds are they have it, or can get it for you from a source in Brooklyn in a day or two.

Later,
George

There is also a great plumbing supply store in Orange on Central Ave, right next to Central Bath and Kitchen (i.e. the NJ Transit Line).

If you're a woman, I wouldn't go to Palmer. They will ignore you. What about Maplewood Plumbing on Springfield Ave? There was also a thread here a while back about an old fashioned hardware store in W.O. that carries everything. You might also try the catalogue company Outwater.

Central Plumbing is the BEST. I love those people.
Good luck
