Into the final stages of my floor refinishing project.
There are a couple of spots, which show through the stain as yellowish, and a spot where I could have done a better job at sanding the filler.
The yellowish dots, I'm attributing to varnish from the previous finish that was missed. Is there anything I can do, before I varnish to make these spots less noticable. If I sand these spots with 120 paper and try to restain the spots, will it look worse?
Any thoughts, from those with past experience?
For those who have implied this project was done once with younger backs and knees. How come there's no mention of the associated marital stress, guess it depends on whose idea it was!

Thanks

Box, hoesntly, having refinished almost all our floors now, my advice is to not sweat it. You are almost certainly looking at the floors in an empty room, with a critical eye. Once all the rugs, furniture and assorted stuff is back in, you barely see 20% of the floors (sob!), and probably will never see these spots.

Professionals leave flaws too - don't be too hard on yourself or expect the impossible. It may be weird spots in the wood - that happens too.

I think trying to fix it could cause more trouble than it is worth.

Did the previous owners have cats? If you're dealing with cat pee stains, just know that your workmanship is not the problem. Not even a pro can sand those out. Good luck

Thanks for the calming comments. You're right no fix required.
I've thrown down a couple of rugs and the floors look 'fantastic'.
So much so that it's inspired me to rip up the stair carpet.
No 'cat' stains on the stairs, just big gaps, between the tread and the piece it sits on 'riser'? I fear my wood putty will not suffice.
