We cleaned out the fireplace, but still have that smoky odor - vent is closed as well.

Any ideas on a way to give the fireplace a good scrubbing and eliminate this smell?

Is there a febreze like product that would absorb the odor?

Could the damper be leaking - maybe rain got in & is making it smelly?

How about baking soda or one of those "lava rock" pouches for odors - think you can find them at places like Bed Bath & Beyond...

Funny you should say that. I actually threw him out a couple of months ago. He was spending all of his time playing online poker, BS'ing on MOL, engaging in questionable activities with Snickers Bars -- not to be indelicate, but he was attempting to create a Snickers "Dark" line.
