For those of you who may have purchased a kitchen sink recently (stainless steel, undermount, on the large side), what do you consider a moderate price? $400ish or $200ish? |

Even though I shudder at the thought....my brother-in-law sells good quality stainless steel sinks on Ebay. As much as I hate his guts, he is reliable and has a great rating on Ebay. |

Me, Consumer's Reports had a feature on sinks not to long ago. Some of their conculusions were surprising since a thicker gauge and more sound deadening (more expensive) often didn't make a difference. Their website is subscription only, but the library probably has back issues. There is also another thread on this around here someplace, pretty recent. |

Actually, Bob, that was my thread. I have an on-line subscription to CR, so I always go there to check. I'm just curious what folks find as a moderate price. I already bought the sink, but I'm wondering if I paid too much. I don't think I did, just trying to get a feel for other folk's experience. |

I believe we paid around $350. Very deep too. Enough to put a 18x14 pan flat in it. We got the deepest because we wanted to maximize the couter space and not give up all that space to the sink. Man, can you fit a whole lot of dishes in there! |

I've heard great things from a couple of people who've bought C-tech Italian sinks from this ebay seller (but no personal experience). The sinks look great, too! http://stores.ebay.com/Euro-Sinks Pete |

We bought one that was way too muc,h $1000 or so, by Julien. It ended up not fitting anyway! So we sold it on ebay. We replaced it with a $500 Elkay sink that is very nice, though not the quality of the Julien. Ours is 10" deep and about 30 X 18 so it is really big. We didn't want it too deep because I like having my son help with the dishes |
