I just searched the archives for names of contractors that could help us out and found that there is a lack of names of good ones and bad ones. I need help. We had a heating pipe burst on our first floor that leaked into the basement ceiling and has left some damage. We also have had issues with the heat on the second floor leak into the ceiling of the first floor. We also need some one to do sheet rock on a bathroom and a small bedroom where the plaster is chipping and pealing. Who should I call? I called one contractor 2 times already and have not received a phone call back at all. Each time I talk to the office guy he says that someone will call me back in a day or two and now we are on day 2 of the second call. I am tired of waiting. I need to know when we can get some one and how much it will cost. If there is anyone out there who knows of someone who would be reliable and not expensive and who could possibly do all of the above tasks PLEASE PL me. I am growing impatient.
Thanks

Is it mostly sheetrock work? If the other problems have been fixed and it is a matter of replacing wall and ceiling, you can try a painter. We've used World of Colors for this many times and were happy with them. But, I'm sure any decent painter does this.

A plumber should be able to deal with the heating issues and their season should be slowing down.

I think that may be the least expensive and fastest option. These guys blow thru pretty fast once they start.

You can also call Rich at Honeydo. He does smaller jobs.

It's renovation season, so it will be hard to find someone quickly for a small job.

There are a lot of good plumbers around here, which is what you need to get the leaking pipes repaired. Look at the archieves for recs from MOLers. Names that come to mind are Gateway and the Corragio Brothers.

You are probably best using a painter to repair the ceilings. They also do sheetrock repairs in connection with the painting.

Bench Mark Interiors is waiting to start a big job, and can start a sheetrock job immediately. See http://benchmark-interiors.com
or try 862-368-3154.
