If you mean Buncher's in Millburn, agreed. We've used them several times, and they are speedy and reasonable. Lock repair/replacement, too. |

Yes they do! You call them, tell them the nature of it roughly. Guy comes out, measures/assesses. Goes back to the store to get glass cut and then comes back and installs. I had 2 panes in a 9 pane kitchen door and I think it all happened same day and I'm pretty sure it was less than $100. Tidy, too. |

Thanks for the tip - I just called and they also will repair a broken sash cord that we never got around to fixing. |

Sorry, my own experience with Bunchers was AWFUL! Not only an absurd price for a single piece of window glass ($85), rude service to boot. /p |

I am curious (please do not take offense as it is not my intention) How is $85.00 ubserd to drive to your home 15-30minutes based on location, (free estimate? at $3.00+ per gallon) and measure the glass, another 15 minutes at least, then order the glass (5 mnutes by phone. Now we are at 30 minutes, then send someone to pick up the glass, and then send the person out to install it, another hour minimum. My estimate is the companies you seek pay a minimum of 13%ssi,fica,etc. and another 13-20% for workers comp and liability insurance. So; if 2 hours are spent at $37.50 per hour Plus $10.00 for glass and putty, hmmm, if he is paying his person only $15.00 per hour this means the owner is making somewhere around $15.00 per hour off this job not counting phone bills, rent, gas for the truck and all the other things it takes to run a legitimate business. I really believe that the average consumer never even considers all of the above, as it is usually (i could have bought that glass for 8 bucks.) I do however believe WHATEVER price is charged, once it is accepted customer service has NO PRICE TAG. It should always be put at the top of the list. THATS WHY I LOVE MAPLEWOOD ONLINE if the contractor faulters he's DEAD. THIS IS ALL IMHO. |
