I got a call tonight, but no message from an entity identified as BVTM by my caller ID. The number they called from was 785-799-3900. I've discovered that BVTM is Blue Valley Telemarketing.

Here's their website, which doesn't come up if you google BVTM: http://www.bluevalley.net/telemarket.asp

And here's their 800 number: 1-800-882-0803.

I called it to tell them I was on the federal "Do Not Call" list and that I had Vonage, so there was a record of their call on my Vonage page that I could easily forward to the authorities. The woman who answered took my number and claimed they would take my name off their call list. Of course, it's entirely possible they put me on a different call list, one calling from a different number, but that seems too Machiavellian, even for a telemarketer.

I encourage others to do the same when BVTM calls them.

We missed the deadline to get on the list. I just never answer the phone.

It was a very brief survey about the upcoming Maplewood primary. Not sure if one is exempt from that with the Do Not Call List. I'm registered and don't get many calls but I received this one.

Political calls aren't included in the non call list legislation.
