We are having central air put into our house, and the company has made it clear that they will not remove the radiators. Any ideas how to get rid of them? are they worth anything?

Are you also switching over to forced air heat?

Pat,

easy to remove. I just pulled a couple to sand a floor. Of course, in your case you would then have to repatch the floor.

If fancy enough, they can be worth something. Do a google search on antique rads. I have a friend with a large square warming rad in his kitchen that I think is worth over $1K.

Does anyone know where to get them sandblasted before I reinstall?

Thanks.

Depending on the size and what they look like and if they are in good condition, I would be willing to take one or two off your hands.

Yes, Wooly Charles(Ex-Maplewoodian) owner of Tech Finishing will have them blasted then apply electrostatic paint and bake them for you.

If you want the number call me at 973 953-0781.

Thanks everyone. And yes we are having forced hot air put in. Is that bad? The radiators are in good shape. They will be removed probably this summer. Let me know if you want them.

Can you post a picture of one or two of them? Again, depending on the size and condition, I might be willing to take one or two off your hands.
