Frustrated by long winded schyster window salesman, I'm thinking about going to windowrama on Route 10 for living room (2 large windows) and kitchen windows (medium size). Anyone have any experience with this operation? |

Went to Widowrama and was totally ignored to the point I walked out. Went over to Windowland in Florham Park and they couldn't be more helpful. |

Another vote for Windowland in Florham Park. Very helpful with trying to think of effective (yet cheaper) ways to deal with the many problems of our starter house. Showed up when they said they would and cleaned everything up. No hard sell. |

We just had our windows replaced by Windowland in Florham Park- although they talked a good talk at the beginning they delivered TERRIBLE customer service in the end. The Trimline windows they installed had multiple manufacturer defects, and according to our initial windowland salesperson, and the Trimline representative, installation problems as well. Things like this happen, and we let them know that the key for us was that the problem be taken care of. Although our Windowland sales rep Carl noted installation problems when he first came to inspect the original work, he told us the week after that that we could no longer deal with him- only the manufacturer Trimline and the owner of Windowland. The owner never came to inspect our windows, and never called to discuss the problems with us. He would not return Trimline's multiple attempts to get in touch with him about how to resolve the matter as a team. He told Trimline to deal directly with us--essentially wanted no part if the matter. For the next 6 weeks Windowlnad did not return calls and continually passed the buck- saying it was all the manufacturers problem and not theirs. They would not work with Trimline to resolve the matter. And they did not service us as customers. We did all the scheduling between Windowland and Trimline and when the day came to replace and reinstall windows, Windowland was three hours late for the appointment. They tried to tell us we never told them what time to be there (an outright lie). The owner was not onsite to supervise, as I requested Multiple times. The crew that showed refused to do anything but caulk- although even the crew chief admitted when he first walked in that at least one of the windows was "a mess." They told me our Windowland sales rep Carl and the Trimline rep didn't know what they were talking about- and refused to admit there were installation problems. Windowland has Shamefully non-existent customer service and I highly discourage anyone from patronizing them. |

Are you looking for a particular type or brand of window, maybe I can lead you somewhere better? |

How often do you need to buy windows? Do you live next to a baseball field, or is your neighbor Dennis the Menace or something? |

I think kitchenguru meant that she purchased them for her clients. |

I gathered that... but how often do you get to make a Dennis the Menace reference? |

Jocelyn, So sorry to hear about your Windowland experience. We had misgivings about them early on and decided to go with someone else. Basically, we found them virtually unresponsive to our request for an estimate. When the rep finally came to our house to take measurements, he explained that the poor customer service was the result of our not yet being a customer. He claimed that once we started paying them we'd be given top priority. We decided not to take that gamble. I'd advise anyone out there who is thinking of redoing their windows to think twice before using Windowland. Your experience confirms it for me. |

We used Air-Chek out of Clifton. No schysters...No "buy now" prices vs. price later tricks. Their prices are posted right on their website. Their windows are excellent and their main installer, Chuck, is extremely professional and nice. http://www.airchek-windowdepot.com/ |
