I am looking for a decorator to help with my dining room and formal living room area. I want to give the living room a "library" feel rather than keeping it formal. I'd like a designer who isn't too traditional and leans more towards contemporary styles (think Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Crate & Barrel). I think I'd like someone who I'd pay by the hour so that we can do some of the work ourselves. Any thoughts?

Bonnie Canevari is wonderful. She 'll do as much or as little as you want.

I used her for overall layout for my kitchen, color consult and emotional support.

Her contact info is:

A second nod for Wendy at Style Guide. She's got a great decorator sense and she's very friendly and easy to work with. She helped us with paint and fabric selection.

An enthusaiastic second for Christina MacDowell! She can be heavily involved or used as an expert advisor--very easy to work with.
