I have used them in the past, but their latest quote is too much. Can you recommend anyone else for interior painting? |

New Colors. Great company to have work for you. I suggest you tell them you tried World of Color and their quote was over-priced; see what they can do for you. I bet they will give you a better quote on the estimate. Remind me again please? What do you need done? This is becoming very interesting. Jersey girl |

We recently used New Colors and I was extremely pleased by their work. Quote was high (didn't get a WOC quote, but I expect it would have been comparable), but the work was spectacular. In comparing the two companies, I felt that WOC did the job sloppier than I would have had i done it myself, and while they did come back to "clean up" when asked, I feel i shouldn't have needed to ask to have the windows scraped. New Colors did a far better job than I ever would have been able to do. In fact, I would call their work flawless. Long way of saying that the "high" quote was well worth it in the end. |

Anyone know if George Mera or anyone else is really good at prep work? We have a living room/ stairway/ upstairs hallway that needs some major spackling and sanding before being painted. We typically do this ourself when the area is contained, but we just can't seem to get a job this size done ourselves. |

Ok, so I went ahead and got 3 other estimates. World of Color was, afterall, not the highest one. I am going with New Colors (only a $50 difference) b/c the guy was MUCH nicer and is willing to do a few things that WoC said they wouldn't. I hope I am not dissapointed. |

I'm a little scared... New Colors just came in less than half of the next nearest quote for a fairly large interior job (lots of cracked plaster & peeling paint). Mario came in next, and Painting America was $1400 higher than Mario. I know that Alex didn't miss anything in his quote, but I can't believe he's *that* much cheaper. (won't even consider WOC due to past experience with them) |

I just had New Colors and Painting America quote on a job (that I'm still trying to decide based on costs of current projects that are going on). Painting America was significantly higher than New Colors and gave a flat number as compared to New Colors which gave a detailed breakdown. If I go ahead New Colors is definitely getting the business. |

My paint job its done. New Colors was done a day in advance, but they had to come back to fix some issues. Overall I was satisfied. I don't think they are that much better than World of Color. |

Just had New Colors come estimate our job and had Painting America in yesterday. We had attempted to do some of the work ourselves and had sanded and primed/ painted much of the woodwork. In many places the paint/ primer is peeling off and we thought it was because we didn't sand sufficiently. Painting America gave us a reasonable estimate - then New Colors came tonight and told me that the reason that the paint is peeling is because there was latex primer put over oil based paint. His estimate was over DOUBLE Painting America's estimate becuase he said that in order to do it right, all of the latex paint/ primer needs to be stripped off and then an oil based primer needs to be applied before being able to use latex paint. We have 2 more estimates coming in this week. Has anyone run into this or can anyone shed some light on the situation?? Thanks! |

Can you give me the # for New Colors? Also - any recommendations for Rutgers Painting? They seem to be the busiest painter in all of Maplewood. They have painted 6 houses on my street in the past month. |

I found out these companies use subcontarctors, I don't like the idea that the guys will be rushing to do the work in order to get a profit, personally I would like to work directly with a contractor and there are many around working. |

Rutgers is all over my neighborhood. Their work looks outstanding and the folks who have used them seem happy with the job they've done. |

From my experience, the prices from World of Colors are very reasonable compared to the other quotes I got. They've just finished my house inside and out including removing the vinyl siding and they've done a fantastic job. |

World of Colors did a great job paining many rooms of my house they were fast and neat. On the other hand New Colors took two weeks to piant one room of my house because the first painter painted latex on oil and then caulked my word work and scraped off the molding from my window. So everything had to be redone. Not a good experience. They were very nice about fixing the problem but within the year everything is cracking and although they stand by their work for a year I am hesitating to call them to fix it. Very nice people but they have too many teams of different calibers. If you hire them I believe it would be worth the wait to make sure you have the best team they have working for them. |

We used World of Colors to paint the outside of our house. We thought their work was excellent, they were very responsible, and the price was reasonable. Their people came on time, and worked very hard and very long hours. At the end the owner came around to inspect, I pointed out a few minor things that needed to be corrected, and they quickly did that. I don't know about their interior work, but we were very happy with what they did for us. |
