I was thumbing through a design/home magazine to continue collecting ideas for our kitchen & bath reno when I saw a company name I had never heard before in all my research. Has anyone (or their plumber) purchased anything from Hudson Reed?

I was all set to plunk down big bucks for a Kohler thermostatic valve and trim plus, lav faucet, etc. when I investigated Hudson Reed's website. Somewhat limited selection but very nice and amazing prices. What's the catch? I emailed them to ask if their fixtures had ceramic disc valves like the higher-end stuff and they said yes. If they're items are good and so much cheaper, why have I never heard of them?

Any plumbers or consumers have experience with this company?

Haven't used them but checked out thier site. It looks like all the usual made in Taiwan type stuff that different distributers put thier own name on.

The main criteria, in my opinion for choosing a faucet should always be, am I going to be able to find parts for this thing 5 years from now?

See if you can call them and ask who's ceramic stem or cartradge they use.
Many are interchangable with Jado and Kohler ect.

Thier showerheads look crappy in the pictures on the site. No self cleaning features, cheap thin brass and chrome, kitshy pseudo victorian design. Just my opinion!

Thanks, that was just the kind of input I was looking for. I guess you get what you pay for.
