Anyone have any experience with them? They are coming to give us a quote to tear out, do mold remediation and waterproofing of our basment. About a year ago we got a quote from Basement Rx for same, but it was very very high and I am not even convinced we need waterproofing. Thoughts? |

We had the same deal - first off - you can remediate mold with a bleach and water solution, then put in sump pump and french drain, etc... we had Gary Gregori of Gregory Waterproofing in Clark. He was amazing, and charged us SO much less than the other "big" companies - the big companies, I guarantee, will scare the daylights out of you, and try to "cut you a deal" if you sign TONIGHT (which we did 2 separate times because we're such mushes). Luckily, you have 3 business days to change your mind, which we did both times. Each company called back multiple times - I think it's nation dry that was almost stalking us, bringing down their price each time they called back. Felt like such a sham. Ultimately, we're really happy we went with Gregory - he doesn't do tear-down stuff, but you could get someone else to do that and still save a bundle... imo |

Why don't you start with a properly working gutter and gutter protection system that channels the water away from you home? Chances are, it will solve your problem at one tenth the amount.

Pippi, I was going to ask what exactly they are doing to waterproof and remediate the mold. I don't know how wet your basement is, but here's what we did: water is diverted away with proper gutters and landscaping french drain (and sump pump, we never get water so we don't use the sump pump!) run a dehumidifer rip out old sheet rock and /or wipe with a bleach solution prime the exposed cinderblock with a waterblock primer We thought our basement would never be suitable but after we dealt with the exterior problems we realized we only had minor seepage that the french drain took care of. Speak to Mr. Vig for more details! Also, a friend used Gregory and was happy!

ditto to all the above - because we had also made sure our drainage was ok, got new gutters and a good dehumidifier, etc, first, we only needed french drain and sump pump on one side of the basement (fingers crossed) - good to get more than one estimate, though, from someone other than the big companies - they're really hard-sell - |

Here's the post script: Nation Wide wouldn't even speak to my husband without me being present. So they left. They must really have been intending the hard sell, which will really turn me off. They rescheduled for next Monday but I am hoping to have gotten some estimates from others before then. We're calling Gregory. any other rec's?

We used Gregory to install French Drains. We were very happy with him. Good Luck |
