We've come into possession of a remnant sufficient in size to use on our sunroom.

Well, that's a good thing, except the porch has a cement floor.

Can anybody recommend an adhesive for the tack strips around the perimeter of the room that will keep the carpet in place, but can be removed in the event we decide to change the room again in a few years.

Thanks for any help.

If it's a straight cement floor, why use tack strips? Are you using padding too? If not, I have seen (HGTV addict here) them just use carpet tape. Cut the remnant to size in position and then use the tape to adhere it.

Shh,

The floor was poured to slope a 1/4" per four feet of run on the short dimension.

The rug which had been out there was constantly, albeit slowly, bunching to the low side of the slope. And yes, we were planning on using a pad.

Also, if it makes any difference, the floor was poured, I presume with a mold, to make it look like 12" x 12" tile.

Tom, if double sided carpet tape doesn't hold it in place well enough, try to adhere the tack strips to the cement with silicon, or check out different adhesives to see what would work on cement. Another option, what we did in our basement, is to build up the floor with studs (here you can level the slope), top with a layer of plywood and then pad and carpet as usual.

Depends how easy a job you want...if it were me, for a sunroom, I might forego the padding and just use heavy duty carpet tape.

(FWIW, MR. Vig is standing behind me and he gave the recs. for the silicon and the studs)

Shh,

My original idea was to put down sleepers and deck over them but TS stopped that idea.

I'll check out the carpet tape idea. If the carpet pulls loose, its back to the tack strips and adhesive. I'll just check out whether the adhesive can be disolved, and how.

Thanks again.
