One site says that it is of medium preference to Bambi; another says that it is poisonous to Bambi. THe list that says "medium preference" also mentions azaleas, redbuds, roses, black eyed susans and weigelas are. That source says that camelia, daylilies and hydrangea are "high preference." I have daylilies and have never had them munched. Is this source wacky, not to be trusted? |

My daylilies show their heads....and then nice green stalks and no heads. I have a mountain laurel which has been nibbled over the last couple of years but left alone this year - we still have plenty of deer so i'm sure it's not poisonous.. My Black eyes susans are ok, the azeleas seem ok too, not nibbled. |

I saw FOUR deer together walking through Montrose. Whose garden is feeding them? Without poison. J.B. |

I have some huge old mountain laurel and rhododendron which the deer leave alone. They also leave my azaleas alone. This must be because they are so happy eating my hosta and trying to get into my vegetable garden. I have given up on daylilies. I also have a apple tree. The deer eat the apples that fall on the ground and the squirrels eat the ones on the tree. The humans don't get any. There is a herd of about 6 deer which hangs out on our dead end street above Ridgewood. Probably some of them go down to Montrose as well. One of them has an injured hind leg and walks with a limp. If you see them, tell them to stay away from the Lizziecats' garden. |
