I noticed that one of my electrical outlets is warm to the touch and I hear a faint humming noise coming from it. Is this something that I can easily fix myself or is it something I should hire an electrician to come look at?

Sounds like it is a GFCI outlet. Trip the breaker and replace it either yourself or have an electrician do it. Humming and heat is not good.

Agree with BobK, have it checked out ASAP. Don't delay.

Don't delay on this. I've never heard an outlet hum (I've heard switches hum), but I guess a GFCI could hum. As Bob K says, trip it and see if it stops and cools down. Unless you have experience changing outlets, call an electricity. A hot receptacle is a recipe for disaster
