Can anyone recommend a good place to get patio pavers that are not too expensive? I looked at Home Depot and was not thrilled with their limited selection.
Thanks!

Try Lowes. They have a product called "Old Castle". It's on a board, behind the garden area. Don't know about it being cheap, but they were nice and different. You might also try that plastic mold that you put cement in. It makes a really nice walkway.

I don't know how they are price wise, but Cambridge pavers have a unique manufacturing process that helps keep their pavers looking like new (they say forever.)

Have you walked around town center and loooked at the pavers they used. They don't look very good in my opinion. The reason is the outer portion of the paver has worn and you can now see the aggregate (the stones in the concrete mix) which takes away from the look of the pavers. A lower quality product will do this.

From what I understand, they're made in Lyndhurst, NJ.

There's a place in West Orange - right off the main strip. Sorry, can't recall the name, but if you do a search, you can probably find it.

Structural Stone in Fairfield on Route 46 just west of Willowbrook Mall or Curly Stone in Verona on Bloomfield Ave have a very large selection.

Cambridge paver is the largers manufacturer of brick pavers in North America and they are in Lyndhurst as Darren said earlier in the thread. I went to a seminar earlier this year and was given the CD which explains the process and shows their product line. The Home cheapo line is laughable - I'm in process of buying a large load of pavers from Cambridge in the next couple weeks - if anyone is interested perhaps if we ordered together we could reduce our square foot costs?

Also, the patented process allows their pavers to look better then others, especially over time - and there is a larger selection of colors.

I am just lookign to put pavers down in a 15 x 15 area of my backyard so i can put my table and chairs on a level surface.

Hey Darren,

Sorry I must have been away from the computer or offline?
Anyway, this sounds good you can send me an email at Ucyber2@msn.com and we could meet face to face. I'm a couple weeks away from having my new driveway ready for the paver installation - I thought of letting the compressed stone surface sit for a couple weeks there by letting it settle before the pavers are installed. I've been told by a couple contractors that this was preferable, I'm also at the point to take a 2nd measurement for square footage, installation is easy the prep is hard work.

Do any of you practiced paving people know how cheaply one can buy pavers? I am looking to put something on top of the massive concrete slab in my backyard, but I don't have a lot of money to spend.

Politicalmon,

I tried e-mailing you, did you get it? Pricing on Cambridge pavers that I know of is reasonable. About $2.10 Sq. Ft. for most of their offerings except the Renaissance line (tumbled to look like stone) which is $3.15 Sq. Ft. delivered to Maplewood. That's on 800 Sq. Ft.

Darren,

When did you sent the email?

I'll check again didn't see it yesterday. The prices are similar to what I have been quoted - we should talk about a strategy in pursuing a better price. I'm looking a little under 3000 sq ft - I know when I estimated costs last fall the total cost of pavers came in around $8K (Renaissance line); I 'm considering reducing the overall square footage by adding textured colored concrete in a specific area that would reduce the pavers area by 20% but have yet to get an estimate for this concrete process so I don't know whether this would end up saving $$$.

Hopefull I'll have the chance to do some measuring this weekend.

Does anyone know someone in the area to call to install pavers, blegian blocks, bluestone? I would like to redo our front walk and put in a path in a soon-to-be garden.
