Just discovered that the furnace on the house we bought is shot - and by shot, I mean cracked flue and rusted heat exchanger.

It's 40-plus years old, so it had a good life. But now we face the daunting task of replacing it.

We've gotten estimates for Comfortmaker, Bryant, Goodman and Trane, so far - waiting on Rheem and Carrier. Prices are fairly close, except one (Bryant) that's double all the others.

Does anyone have any experience with any of these units? I've had Carrier and Trane in the past, but never any of the others.

Also - anyone use Jayson to do a HVAC installation? They're one of the companies we're considering for the install.

Carrier is good Bryant is basically the same brand like Ford and Mercury, Trane is the best. All of the others you mentioned well, to use a trade acronym... P.O.S.
