The original tile in our first bathroom was pink and painted over cheaply with white enamel paint. This includes the tile on the wall, shower and tub. It's now coming up and needs to be repainted correctly. Ideally, I'm looking for a local handy man that can do this sort of job both professionally and inexpensively. Is this person you, or someone you know? |

Jay my friend, I think your best bet for this is one of those tub refinishers. I saw on This Old House (or similar) they basically covered the floors, all and tub with sprayed on enamel. |

So you are saying I should do it myself, VIG? Um...I don't think so. You don't want me sleeping in the garage for the summer, do you? |

Huh? No, look under the yellow pages for tub refinishers. I think the one a lot of people use is Mr. Ugly. I know you can't do stuff around the house. |

Eek! This sounds like another cover-it-up remedy. When we gutted our bathroom we found FOUR layers of cover-it-up remedies. I guess dating back to the 1920s. So others have done it, but someday, it will bite you. We uncovered the four layers looking for a leak. There are old pipes under all that. Aren't you curious about how long they will hold? I fought the gutting all the way, but ultimately, it was the right thing to do. Home Equity Line of Credit? J.B. |
