We would like to have our concrete front walk redone in bluestone and driveway lined in belgian block. Has anyone had any experience with this and, if so, who do you recommend to do the job? I went to Structural Stone with my contractor and was told that the labor to do what I want is going to be astronomical IMO. Would appreciate any names you can provide to give an estimate.

We used Diaz and Son last year for several jobs bundled together - creating belgian-block apron at the base of our driveway, repointing brick and relaying limestone caps in the backyard, and relaying a good portion of our buckling and shaling "classic-Maplewood variety o'slate" front walkway. We were pleased with work and price. Their number is office phone 973-325-5898 and cell phone 973-277-4158.

Don't forget Dean Weiss Landscaping. His phone number is on the MOL list of businesses. When we drove around to see his landscaping references, we saw lots and lots of beautiful walkways, patios, etc. that he does in addition to garden work. Everything we saw looked great!

PS, I should have mentioned that we hired Dean to re-landscape shrubbery at front of house last year. It looks GREAT! We get compliments all the time, but best of all, every time I come home, I enjoy it so much. If he does stonework as well as he does landscaping, you're bound to be happy with it.

I ALREADY contacted Dean and he's so good that he's busy until the FALL. But thanks. Maybe he's so good I should just wait until then.

We live across the street from Anna and can attest to the wonderful job that Dean Weiss did with her front landscape. He built us two wonderful paver patios. I don't know if he works with stone, but it's worth finding out.

PS - We also worked with Avellino who rebuilt our front steps with brick and limestone pavers. They began work when scheduled, were professional, and did a great job. They were a bit pricey, but we didn't get the same level of confidence from some of the other contractors we spoke with.
