Orange Garden supply in Orange. They deliver and have huge trees and plants of a scale no one else has. For smaller stuff The Mill in Maplewood has a prety good selection, and they have stones. Good luck, J.B. |

If you do a search, there were quite a few posts in the last 3 months (about when the weather started to get warm! ). The Farm at Green Valley (or Village, something like that) The Mill Maplewood Nursery Metropolitan Plant exchange (Maplewoody says they have a 4th of July 50% off sale! which is what I'm waiting for) There are a couple of others that have been recommended - I just can't remember them off hand. Have a good time! |

It's not as close as some of the others but my wife and I went to Parker Gardens in Scotch Plains to buy some trees and the place was huge with lots of stuff outdoors and rows and rows of greenhouses. The workers were very helpful & informative. It's the biggest place I know of in the area. http://www.parkergardens.com/ |

I want to say yes, MPE is is West Orange. It's on Point Pleasant/Mount Pleasant/pre-route 10. It's in a strip mall at the bottom of a huge hill. I'm new here and somewhat found it by accident (also known as missing my turnoff when shopping on route 10!) Boy, bet THIS is a lot of help.... |

I've been to the MPE which is good for your basics. If you want something a little different try The Farm at Green Village. They had a nice variety when we were there about a month ago and it's much larger than MPE. http://www.thefarmatgreenvillage.com/

A SECOND to Millstone. For whatever reason, I had assumed they were quite expensive, but found their prices are actually decent by comparison to other nurseries, plus most plants seem to be in good shape. Also, I needed topsoil and mulch and they were great - actually cheaper than the wholesale place I had gone before AND they delivered it the same day I ordered it. |

By far, the Great Swamp Nursery is the best nursery I have found near hear. It is only about 15 miles away from Maplewood. I think it is around exit 31 off of 78 west. Great prices, better selection and everyone is very knowledgable. |

It's the Great Swamp Greenhouses. Exit 40 off 78 West. Right on Hillcrest (turns into Mountain Ave.) Right onto Meyersville Rd. Left onto New Vernon Rd. and it is on your right. http://www.greatswampgreenhouses.com/ |

yet another vote for the Great Swamp Greenhouses. Prices are much cheaper than anywhere right near here, and the selection is very good. They have bagged hardwood mulch that is better shredded and more attractive than the stuff at Home Depot. Plus, you can go for a walk on the boardwalk in the swamp, or go to the Raptor Trust, AND take in the Mexican place to really make a day of it! |

The SALE is the whole week of the 4th at Metropolitan Plant on Pleasant Valley Way in WO. The sale is 40% off their entire store. They are constantly bringing more plants to sell this week... This is a good time to buy fertilizer, seed, anything you'll use in the coming year....etc.
