My freezer fridge isn't cooling, and apparently we can't reach the part that needs to be unblocked. we can't fix it with online/phone help and it has no warranty. GE has their "trained technician" can't get here til next Thursday. Is there any way we can get it fixed before everything goes bad/smells worse than it does already?

Yikes - bad timing!

Had a similar issue a few years back -- service couldn't come out for 10 days!

You said online wasn't helpful -- not sure exactlyl what online, -- but for me, using these 2 web sites found the broken part, ordered it, had it within 24 hours. The part was $17, overnight/rush Fedex more than that! But, still far cheaper, MUCH faster than waiting for service.

Good luck -- Pete

Thanks. Unfortunately we can't reach the piece that is apparently blocked. Would really like to find a service person rather than attempting it myself.

A N,

This is no help as far as a technician or parts solution, but you are asking is there anything that can help before things go bad/smell worse than they do already...

It's the smells worse than they do already bit that concerns me - that is a sign that things are indeed decaying.... I had this happens quite a few years ago, and the only solution was either to eat things or throw them out. I had stocked up the entire freezer the week before with prime cuts etc and it was heart breaking, but I knew the alternative would have been food poisoning.

If there is anything that you KNOW is still good, do you have any friends/neighbours close by who could keep it in their freezer for you?

I hope you can be a resolution for your problem quickly.
