The control panel on my range broke recently. $500 to repair (almost half the cost of the range!!!!). While I still have a month left on my manuf. warrantee, I feel very, very good about my decision to pay $75 per appliance for a 4-year extended warrantee. Manufacturers pack these things with electronics which are really costly to repair/replace.
