Please send good/bad experiences with your water softener leasing companies. I have tried searching, but have given up on the Search engine here. Anyone have a # for Jayson? Thank you |

I really like Culligan. We bought. You will be literally joyous with soft water, whomever you choose!!! Things get clean! Taste decent! Don't corrode!!! I noticed at Lowes you can buy the whole set up. Of course, you'd need a plumber to install, but I wonder if it's relatively simple and a lot cheaper that way...just a thought. |

SOSully I have portasoft 908 233 4300 - a man came out to talk to us/check the water etc - no sales pressure at all, we decided to go with them as a friend recommended them, we arranged an install date, and the rest, as they say, is history... My water is horrible (like everyones!) we rent the unit $23.00 per month but it is a sizeable unit... they can either deliver salt and you will pay a bit more than if you bought it yourself at HD, but they take it downstairs, fill up the unit etc and believe me, that is worth the money! It's made the world of difference. |

I also have portasoft, the salt, delivery etc. is only $70 a year and totally worth it. My water feels completely different, come over and see my glasses -- which used to be encrusted with mineral buildup -- if you want to be completely awed! |

I went to Livingstone Vaccum to get a repair done and he is now sellign thsi new water softener. No salt needed. It is just an electronic unit that hooks into your water supply and discharges an impulse that breaks down the minerals. I think the unit is $300 but then that is it. HG TV also had a thign about it on their big ideas show. I had a contractor look at the write up on it and he said it was brilliant and then went out and got one for himself. |

I have researched these and have found no credible evidence that they work |

Another plug for Cullingan. And you don't want to lug salt yourself! Our delivery guy left the bags in our driveway once when we couldn't be home and we almost killed our backs dealing with getting the bags into the basement! |
