Can anyone recommend a service to repair wall unit air conditioners? I've called a few places, which only do central a/c work. Thanks very much.

Jonathan, how old is the unit and how many BTUs?

As a general rule of thumb if a window AC is over five years old and under 10,000 btus it makes sense to replace it, not repair it.

Thanks for the advice. It's at least 8 years old - don't know the BTUs.

Just dropped of my 5 years old, 19,000 BTU Friedrich - it had a leak in the coolent storage unit - $175 for the repair - Appliance Center - Dover 973 366 3383. The unit has had the problem for years I was too lazy to drag it to a repair center since we only use it about 3-4 weeks in the year - that was a mistake since it just passed it's 5 year warranty period!
