I'm getting air through the engine. I've got spark. But even after excess priming, I get no gas smell when turning the engine over. Should I presume that I have a blockage in the fuel line, or should I be looking elsewhere. TomR P.S. Yes, ther is gas in the tank. |

Call P&P Lawnmower (973) 763-6637 I had a similar sounding problem, even after a filter change. It turned out that my primer button wasn't squirting any gas. Something that was broker had to be repaired (lucky for me it was under warranty) |

THe acelerator pump is a component of the carb. Get a can of gum out (carb cleaner) and blast the carb.

Michael, Just in case I ever need the information, tell me more about the acelerator pump. I readily admit that i know more about Chevy than lawnmower engines. As it turns out, the airway on the carb from the the primer bulb channel was clogged. Simple fix. Thanks Pdg. TomR |

Hi Tom, Sometimes water gets into the float bowl. It is located under the primer pump, It usually comes off from the center screw at the bottom of the bowl. Take it off and wipe it dry, then put it back. Most of the time that is all it is. Good Luck Marshall |

If you are looking to replace your lawn mower, I would strongly recommend that you get an electric... I bought the cheapest Black & Decker from Home depot 3 years back and it always works... nothing to service, no spark plugs to clean... no gas to store... But, yes you have to deal with the 100' cable... which is not as much of a bother once you know how to work around it... |

I'm waiting for my Toro to die so that I can buy a John Deere mower. I also want the John Deere cap to go with it. |

I second what Hillsider says - although it does depend on the size of your yard. I have a B&D Lawn Hog electric mulching mower - works great, very low maintenance, and you'll quickly get up to speed on the fine art negotiating the electric cable Just make sure it is plugged into a GFCI protected outlet! |
