Since moving into our house a couple of months ago, we haven't made the garden a priority. The grass has been mowed regularly, but all of the lovely landscaping that was here before we arrived has just been left to grow wild. It has become ridiculous and a bit overwhelming. We are looking for someone to come in and do a big one-time clean-up, and then our goal is to be able to maintain it. I had done a search, and called Mui from Oriental Gardeners. He has simply not shown up THREE times ( I kept giving him another shot) to appointments for an estimate, and now I need another plan. I tried doing a search now, but can't seem to get any results. Anyone love their gardener? The yard isn't all that big, but we do have quite a bit planted, and a forrest of weeds has found its home. Thanks in advance for your suggestions! |

Rose, for a while my friend Judy and I had a business called "Le Petite Jardin" where we did exactly that. She is on vacation this week, but if you PL or call me 973.763.4726, I will take a look and quote you a price. I WILL SHOW UP! Ask other MOL'ers if Sherri De Rose is reliable. |

I dunno. Somehow, calling a Demolition company to make a garden pretty just doesn't sound right to me. Rose - you may have a very hard time getting a small job like that done. It's high season for major landscaping projects, most which have been scheduled far in advance. You might want to take Sherri up on her offer. She is reliable. BTW - Sherri - I am jealous; doing small individual garden projects is my dream job. |

I was assuming that what was needed was a big clean up. Rake the yard, flowerbeds, around and under bushes, remove sticks, bushes, small trees, rocks and such. Also haul it all away. We are licensed to dump vegetative waste by the Township of West Orange, and have done many yard clean ups in the past. Clayton Demolition and REMOVE-ALL, LLC. www.claytondemo.biz } |

Sherri, Do you do consultations also for a fee? My place is in need of some landscaping and I am in need of advice on how to take care of trees, bushes, ivy, grass, and flowers (no flowers planted yet, tho, that is something I need advice on). I want to do my own landscaping for the satisfaction and exercise, but I don't know the first thing about this stuff. But I do know that I spent 1/2 hour pruning a bush today and I really enjoyed it (I hope I didn't mutilate the poor bush, tho).

Sherri IS a very nice person! She just did a huge favor for our family just out of the goodness of her heart. She also has a lovely garden, so I'm sure she will offer excellent advice. |

Thanks everyone for the info. Sherri, I will give you a call in the morning. Thanks JC for the offer, but it is more tidying than clearing things away. I can understand where your assumption came from though. This week seems to be flying by, and I just haven't had a chance to follow up. But tomorrow is my "get things done" day. :-) I will talk to you then.
