A pane in one of our old double-hung windows just broke and I'd like to replace the glass. We also need miscellaneous repair work to several windows (fixing those weight things, etc.) and I'd love to find someone who could do that...I just noticed someone who posts as "window_doctor"...might you be the person I'm looking for? |

ASH, if no one on this board has a recommendation, I would try calling Buncher's Hardware in Millburn to see if they can provide or recommend someone. They seem to have a lot of "old house" stuff and services. This is not super-complicated work, just needs someone with some knowledge and patience. good luck! |

Thanks mjc, that's a great idea. I'll give them a try. |

There is also a place just west of Lowe's on Morris Avenue that I saw last night and made a mental note of. Not sure of the name, but if you need some stuff from Lowe's, this might be a good excuse to take a short drive. |

I used Bunchers recently and was very pleased with the work - it's not cheap, however, but they were prompt. Repaired a broken pane and fixed the pully-weighted thingie in a window that slammed shut all the time. |
